PZEM Energy Company B.V. becomes EP Commodities B.V. : strategic rebranding within EP NL

As of February 11, 2025, PZEM Energy Company B.V., part of EP NL will officially continue under the name EP Commodities B.V. This rebranding represents a strategic step within parent company – Energetický a průmyslový holding (hereafter EPH), strengthening the group’s position in the European energy markets. The legal structure and services remain unchanged, with a continued focus on innovation and growth in the business energy sector.

WHY THIS CHANGE?

EP NL, the Dutch subsidiary of EPH, changed the names of its power plants earlier this year to strengthen cohesion within the group. The name change of PZEM Energy Company B.V. follows this, after the trading activities were strengthened by entering into a cooperation with EP Commodities (hereafter EPC). EPC, as the wholesale trading business of EPH, focuses on natural gas, electricity, emission rights trading, and optimization of EPH power and gas positions. With its active role in European energy markets, EPC is an established player in the sector. Two strong labels under one umbrella

Within EP Commodities B.V., we now operate under two brands:

  • EP NL energy – Provides tailored energy solutions for large business customers and standardized products for the SME segment, focusing on cost optimization and innovative solutions for business end-users.
  • EP Commodities – Focused on trading in European wholesale markets for energy commodities such as electricity, gas, and CO2 emissions, we provide products and services for the wholesale market.

The new name EP Commodities B.V. reflects the core activity of the Trade division: the trading of energy commodities. While the name changes, EP NL remains the overarching organization connecting both brands. This structure enables more efficient and customer-centric operations while maintaining a unified corporate identity.

(formerly PZEM Energy Company) builds on a strong legacy that began in 1919 with the founding of the Provinciale Zeeuwse Elektriciteit Maatschappij, which supplied electricity to households and businesses. Over the years, the company evolved from a regional player into a key name in the Dutch energy market.

The acquisition by EPH Group in 2023 provided fresh momentum, accelerating growth and expanding expertise. As part of EP NL, the Dutch subsidiary of EPH, the company is now better positioned to strengthen its market presence and adapt to an evolving energy landscape.
