ETS-2 is de uitbreiding van het Europese emissiehandelssysteem (ETS) naar de gebouwde omgeving en het wegtransport. Vanaf 2027 (mogelijk 2028) moeten leveranciers van brandstoffen ook voor deze sectoren CO₂-rechten aanschaffen.
Voor bedrijven betekent dit dat de energiekosten sterker worden beïnvloed door CO₂-prijzen en dat duurzame keuzes financieel aantrekkelijker worden.
