Wat als de vraag meer is dan de productie? Uit welke landen kunnen CvO’s dan gekocht worden?

Zowel GvO’s als CvO’s kunnen geïmporteerd of geëxporteerd worden, mits het betreffende land lid is van de Europese Unie (EU) of het Verdrag van de Europese Economische Ruimte (EEA) heeft ondertekend. Daarnaast moet het land aangesloten zijn bij de Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB), die toezicht houdt op het gestandaardiseerde systeem: het European Energy Certificate System (EECS).
